Description
Our standard range of GRP gratings are all non-conductive. Conductive GRP grating has a secondarily applied conductive surface which, when properly grounded with copper earthing straps, drains off the build-up of unwanted, potentially dangerous static electricity. This highly specialised grating produces an electrical resistance of less than 26 kilo ohms per 300mm, while the grating retains all of the other desirable characteristics of conventional glass reinforced plastic (GRP) grating. It is typically used on roof walkways of high buildings as a defence against lightening strikes and in environments where static sparks could cause problems, such as:
- High-tech industries where static electricity can damage chips, laser discs etc
- Facilities where explosive-proof components are specified
- Dry environments where static sparks can endanger personnel
- Other high hazard environments, where gases, solids or flammable liquids could be ignited by a static spark
QuartzGrip® Conductive GRP Grating maintains all the benefits of standard fibre glass grating: low-maintenance, lightweight, long-lasting, slip and corrosion-resistance. Conductive grating is available to special order – please allow 12 to 14 weeks lead time. To discuss your requirements please get in touch.
We can supply a range of specialist gratings to suit different environments including Vinyl Ester and Phenolic.
