SafeClamp Handrail System
Our ergonomic GRP SafeClamp handrail system offers a cost effective and lasting alternative to conventional metal alternatives. With low installation and maintenance costs, outstanding corrosion and impact resistance and zero scrap value, GRP handrails significantly outperform steel, aluminium and timber equivalents.
SafeClamp® comprises pultruded fibreglass tube (5mm wall) in 6000mm lengths that can be cut down and fitted together in the configuration of your choice using the comprehensive range of matching moulded GRP fittings. Smooth and warm to the touch, its Hi-Vis yellow colour never fades or needs painting and alerts pedestrians to hazards well in advance of them reaching them. Extensively used in the rail industry, SafeClamp® is suitable for safeguarding steps, stairs and platforms in any industrial setting and can be used to control foot traffic and flow at road and rail crossings, at the approach to stairs or escalators and in busy walkways.
SafeClamp is compatible with many other key clamp hand rail systems and can be used to extend existing installations. When correctly installed, our handrail will meet BS 7818 (1995): Specification for pedestrian restraint systems in metal NB: there is currently no safety standard for GRP handrails.
