GRP Embankment Stairs for Highways England at Junction 7, M25

GRP Embankment Stairs, Junction 7, M25

We were approached by our client to give safe access solution for Highways England personnel to the abutment at J7 of the M25 to the bottom of the slope. The embankment was very steep and the original steps consisted of gravel, retained with timber edging and secured with metal rods.

Step on Safety promptly arranged for a Topographical Survey and Ground Investigation to determine the optimal placement of the steps. Our preferred design team then crafted the steps to meet Highways England standards, securing approval. The ambitious GRP Embankment stairs structure, consisting of 10 flights of stairs and 11 landings, swiftly moved into production. Our highly skilled fabricators completed the fabrication in just 3 weeks.

During the installation phase, our team was on-site to assist the client, who was unfamiliar with our products. We assigned a Supervisor to support the installation team, addressing any queries as they assembled the stairs and landings. The client was very satisfied with the service given by Step on Safety and provided us with great feedback.
